Funds and foundations
Do you represent a fund and would you like to make high-profile projects possible at the Kröller-Müller Museum? With your help, we can realise special exhibitions, acquisitions, conservation work and educational projects.
Projects
Thanks to the generosity of funds, we have already realised many wonderful projects. For example, the thorough restoration of the visitors’ favourite Jardin d’émail was carried out with the support of many funds. We were also able to present a record number of works on loan during Futurism & Europe. And the online educational resource Cultuursnack (Cultural snack) has been further developed thanks to contributions from multiple funds.

Main benefactors
The Kröller-Müller Museum has three main benefactors: the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW), the VriendenLoterij, and the Helene Kröller-Müller Fund. This support enables us to keep the collection in top condition, make special acquisitions, organise high-profile exhibitions, and set up educational projects.
Ministry of Education, Culture and Science
Our collection is part of the Dutch National Art Collection. Therefore, the Kröller-Müller Museum, together with 37 other museums, receives a subsidy from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
Under the Heritage Act, museums must be assessed by a review committee every four years. This is a group of independent experts. Through this process, museums account for their actions to the public, partners, the government, and society. The evaluation also helps to improve the internal quality of the museum. The findings are recorded in a review report. Read the review report 2023 (in Dutch).
VriendenLoterij
The Kröller-Müller Museum has been receiving support from the VriendenLoterij since 1988. The museum receives an annual amount. This money enables us to make important acquisitions that complement and enrich the collection. Thanks to this support, the museum has acquired, among other things, Opposites of White (2006–2007) by Roni Horn, Untitled (2018) by Anish Kapoor and Ohne Titel (1969) by Blinky Palermo.
As a participant, you can link your lottery ticket to a recipient of your choice. By playing for the Kröller-Müller Museum, at least 40% of your monthly stake goes to the museum.

Helene Kröller-Müller Fund
The Helene Kröller-Müller Fund was founded in 2013. Private individuals and companies sympathetic to the collection and the museum can join this fund. The fund has already contributed more than two million euros to educational projects, conservation work and exhibitions at the Kröller-Müller Museum.
