Join our backers club

Do you want to help preserve the collection, make exhibitions possible, or introduce schoolchildren to the world of art? Join our backers club and contribute to wonderful projects.

Helene Kröller-Müller also appealed to private individuals to help make her dream of a 'museum house' a reality. Helene referred to these donors as ‘Gulden Boekers’ (golden backers). In this way, she also left us a strong tradition of giving. This resulted in the Helene Kröller-Müller Fund and our backers club. As a backer, you can also link your contribution to a specific project.

What does the fund do with my contribution?

A question that often arises in fundraising is: ‘Where does the money go?’ Our current and completed projects are highlighted on the projects page (Dutch). The Helene Kröller-Müller Fund also provides full openness in its annual review (Dutch)

Goals

The fund contributes to:

  • educational projects
  • restoring masterpieces – such as the visitors’ favourite Jardin d’émail by Jean Dubuffet;
  • exhibitions.

Tax benefit

The Helene Kröller-Müller Fund is a cultural ANBI (public benefit) organisation. As a result, you can deduct your donation from your income tax. Donors to cultural ANBIs are eligible for an additional tax deduction. As a private individual, you may multiply a donation to a cultural ANBI by 1.25 in your income tax return and deduct it as a donation.
Your donation then goes entirely to the Kröller-Müller Museum, because the fund does not have to pay gift tax or inheritance tax on it.

You can read more about the tax benefits of donating on the website of the Dutch Tax Authority.

Founding

The Helene Kröller-Müller Fund was founded in 2013 as an initiative of former politician Alexander Pechtold and actress Johanna ter Steege. It was their labour of love for the most beautiful museum in the Netherlands: the Kröller-Müller Museum.
