ANBI status of the fund
The Helene Kröller-Müller Fund is a cultural ANBI organisation.
The fund is registered with the Dutch Tax Authority as a Public Benefit Organisation (ANBI). This means that the fund does not pay inheritance tax or gift tax on legacies and donations. Every euro donated goes entirely to the fund. Furthermore, donating to organisations with ANBI status offers tax benefits.

The organizational goal, as described in the statutes:
- To provide material support to the Kröller-Müller Museum in Otterlo in areas that cannot be funded from the normal running of that museum, including purchases to expand the collection, special restorations, and the ability to hold special exhibitions, perform art history research, publish, and carry out educational projects;
- To carry out all further activities that relate to or could facilitate the above in the broadest sense, including the necessary fundraising. The Fund’s policy on payments must be such that it can be classified as a public benefit organization (PBO) for tax purposes, as referred to in Article 5b of the State Taxes Act (Algemene wet inzake rijksbelastingen);
- The Fund does not intend to make a profit.

Remuneration of the board
The members of the board are not remunerated for their work for the Fund. They are entitled to the reimbursement of expenses they incur during the performance of their duties, otherwise known as attendance fees.
