Guided tours

Go on a journey of discovery through the museum or sculpture garden! The museum’s tour guides provide guided tours on request. They give you interesting background information about the masterpieces and their creators. There are three tours to choose from.

Permanent collection

Discover highlights of the permanent collection of the Kröller-Müller Museum. The tour includes the life-sized portrait of Mata Hari, the festive Chahut by Georges Seurat and the abstract works of Bart van der Leck and Piet Mondriaan. The central focus of the tour are the works by Vincent van Gogh, both his early Dutch works and the more colourful works he created in France. You also learn more about the museum’s founder: Helene Kröller-Müller. Which were her personal favourites? How did the works end up in her collection?

Sculpture garden tour

Awaken your senses on a walk through one of the largest sculpture gardens in Europe. The tour guide shows you sculptures by Auguste Rodin, Barbara Hepworth and Jean Dubuffet. You will learn about the fascinating history of the sculpture garden and view famous works of art close up!

Van Gogh, All Our Paintings

Discover the stories behind Vincent van Gogh’s paintings together with your family or friends. Our tour guide will take you through the exhibition in one hour. From 17 September to 31 December, you can book a group tour on Thursdays to Sundays at 11.30 and 13.00 hrs.

Give your own guided tour

You can also give a guided tour yourself, for a maximum of 15 people. This ensures that the spaces remain accessible for other visitors. The use of a headset is required in the period from 1 March to 31 October. You must bring the headsets with you. A headset is not required in the sculpture garden.

A tour operator group receives a guided tour in the museum’s sculpture gallery.

Audio tour

With the Podcatcher audio tour, you can listen to background stories to about 30 masterpieces by Vincent van Gogh, Georges Seurat and Piet Mondriaan, among others. The audio tour can only be used in the museum's collection presentation. There is no audio tour for the exhibitions and sculpture garden. You rent the audio tour for a maximum of 90 minutes. Hand in the device in time at the information desk, so other visitors can use it too.
